River Katsura

The Katsura separates the city center from the area where my campus is located. Now that I have moved into my permanent apartment I will cross it every day on my way to work.

The river is secured left and right by massive walls to protect the surrounding area against floods. Most of the year the river runs relatively low and the flood plains can be used for agriculture, sports and barbecue parties.
